I came across this article in my news feed and it resonated with me. These medical, state, and federal institutions are cracking down on visitors in a bid to protect their populations. These stories of families being impacted like this are especially poignant, looking at death and eternity with uncertainty and fear.
I thought if I was in the same situation, I cannot say I would be too distraught. My family might be, a bit more. But I know the Lord. My immediate family does as well. I know what the future holds after this life. I know right where I’m heading.
“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” II Timothy 1:12
Certainty in your eternal future is an indomitable comfort as you face your mortality and helps to resist the lurid, suffocating fear mongering of the media and the hysterics of the weak minded.
“…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5. Therefore, a believer will never really “die alone.”
