The ‘Save America Rally’ and Trump

Well, that didn’t turn out as intended…

Four years ago during the 2016 primaries I received a lot of flack from friends and family because I didn’t toe the Republican Party line and fall in behind the Trump nomination. After decades of GOP malfeasance and ineffectiveness – and outright corruption – we dumped our Republican membership and went straight No Party Preference. I won’t go into further reasons here.

Now, in the wake of the heavily Evangelical Christian endorsed Save America Rally and the storming of Capitol Hill, the first solid response I have seen in response to tumult, and many other issues, including the elections.

Trump – This May Be The Most Important Speech I’ve Ever Made

(Editor’s note: These links are now dead, in the wake of the January 2021 Big Tech purge of Trump and myriad other Christian and conservative voices.)

I was never a Trump fan. I always despised the bizarre celebrity culture in our country that by and large propelled him to the presidency. I have to admit I enjoyed greatly watching him humiliate and mock the feral dogs of the White House press pool; people who are some of the vilest people on the planet, no better than jackals running the savannas of Africa. And whether his political enemies like it or not, he has accomplished a lot of bipartisan good the last four years.

That being said, any sane mind has to see the 2020 presidential election was stolen, riddled with fraud and corruption across whole states. Trump lays out the evidence. The MSM is one of the main enablers of this criminal conduct.

I’m ambivalent about Trump. But the Lord has obviously Providentially used him to bust this decades long corruption wide open. I’m not ambivalent about running down those behind this and prosecuting them under every Federal law that they violated pulling this off. Our Constitutional order depends on it. That remains to be seen.

The whole speech is posted on Facebook.

The globalist slur against Amy Coney Barrett – and US.

Globalist pants-wetting. What nonsense. I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016, but in the midst of everything, this small snippet in the (typical) theatrical confirmation hearings of Amy Coney Barrett is a credit to Trump’s nomination of her. The Constitution and Constitutional law is an American document, a legal document Americans live under. I always take the “nationalist” slur from a globalist personally because it undermines American sovereignty to the ever encroaching globalist “new world order.”

I am a card carrying American patriot – America first. If that makes me appear to some snotty globalist/internationalist a backward, “hick” thinker in the “norms of democracy” – too bad. Any hint of subjugation of American blood bought Constitutional law to a faux, morally ambiguous and corrupt internationalism should be virulently opposed by any American.

Lawful Rebellion on the 4th of July

In the midst of the COVID19 fiasco and quarantines and the now intermittent and ongoing protests and social upheaval, one thing I was happy to see is the surge of attorneys nationwide publicly stating they will represent, pro bono, anybody targeted/fined by the authorities, not only for not wearing a mask (a useless gesture), but keeping their personal businesss open after being ordered again to close them.

In California, Governor Newsom’s completely arbitrary closures of re-opened restaurants over the 4th of July weekend and, incredibly, his order that churches stop singing in their services (to be largely ignored), belie the intrusive, totalitarian paternalism of a “progressive” philosophy that is increasingly irrelevant.  Nobody is complying anymore, simply because the California administration has careened into the absurd.

It is heartening that a majority of the population is coming to grips with the reality, freedoms taken for granted so long and a quiet status quo that has stood by enduring the destructive fallout of the misguided and unjustified Covid19 quarantines and the lawless Antifah rioting, are starting to shoulder the personal responsibility; the moral courage, to stand up to this tyranny.  To learn how to say NO, and to push back.

Whether this has any enduring fruit remains to be seen, though…

Christian Pastors under attack in Chicago

Cornerstone Baptist Church
Cornerstone Baptist Church

I saw this story from Todd Starnes on his web site first (Advisory: His web site is absolutely clogged with ads). Apparently Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is sending around the Chicago cops to harass the people who chose to attend services at Cornerstone Baptist Church on May 17. Get this, they couldn’t enter the church because, “…our doors were locked as a normal safety precaution we take each service to protect our members from the escalating gun violence in Chicago,” the pastor said.  What an absurd situation the rest of us out here in middle America, Jesus Land, suburbia don’t have a clue about. This is a Christian church in an America “first world” city, with services behind locked doors as a security protocol to protect the congregation from the gun violence plaguing this Democrat run city – with strident “gun control” – now having to bravely face down the psycho city administration in their Jihad to enforce lockdown compliance (liquor stores and pot shops get a pass of course).

Yet, President Trump and Attorney General Bob Barr, in this same time frame, have stated, “Governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open right now — for this weekend,” with the implied threat that the Federal government would override, on Constitutional grounds, the decisions to keep churches locked down during this absurd q “quarantine.” And yes, to administration’s attackers who question if the Federal government can do this, yes they can.

So I ponder, will the Trump administration and AG Barr put up, or shut up? Time to walk the walk, not talk.  Barr and the administration needs to shut Mayor Lightfoot down.  California governor Gavin Newsom was smart enough to toe the line the very next day from the administration’s announcement.

Guess what? Nobody gets out alive.

Every reform, however necessary, will by weak minds be carried to an excess, that itself will need reforming.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The author over at Cold Fury makes some interesting rhetorical observations of an article here.  The last few remaining sane people in America have been able to start pushing back after the initial media generated fire storm (fodder provided by many since completely discredited “medical experts”) terrifying the nation’s populace over the Wuhan/Covid-19 virus.

Oh my! Risks ahead!

I have been completely stunned and amazed at the reaction to the Covid-19 outbreak. It has been revealing.  Having lived through every “world ending pandemic” of the last forty years, that the government would even considering taking the overreaching, longterm destructive steps they have in this scenario is bad enough.

But what has been worse is response by society as a whole. I acknowledge as  a Christian I am obligated to:

“…Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.King James Version (KJV).

Nonetheless, it is another Biblical standard and mandate I struggle with, especially if the panicked, weak-minded response of my fellow citizens only enforces and undergirds the totalitarian bent of politicians and “experts” whose warped, excessive actions in this whole farce continues to cause such far reaching damage to society – enslaving everybody else.  You see them slobbering in support of the latest edict posted on some bureaucrat’s social media account as they hand down another repressive, useless edict during this “quarantine.”

Hiding behind a mask.

Anyone who contests publicly becomes a target of the lemming’s snarky comments and misguided justifications; weak-minded children defending their surrogate parent – intrusive, paternal government.

“Bubble-Wrapped Americans: How the U.S. Became Obsessed with Physical and Emotional Safety” at the Burning Platform blog captures much of the history leading up to this sick state of people’s minds in our culture, especially the younger generations. I have been an observer of much of what he lays out.

All I can say to the weak, the feeble minded furtively looking for security at the hands of those who cannot provide it (although they will boastfully lie and posture – then abandon you when the inevitability of life catches up with you), death is inescapable.  You can hide in your home until “proper authorities” say it’s “safe,” but that’s never going to be reality. The rest of us have to push on with life.

Do you know Him?  Escape the fear mongers…

“Tithing” your stimulus check? Pump the brakes there

Sure enough, I saw it pop up first on Twitter, and the vultures are circling. The idea that professing Christians are obligated to “tithe” their stimulus checks to the ministry – many commentators suggesting from ten percent to even one hundred percent. A cursory reading c_scalefl_progressiveq_80w_800sees the faithful parroting the mangled theology of the American prosperity gospel that has infected the culture for decades, evidence of how many have bought into this lie.

The 2020 stimulus checks were issued by the US government for one purpose – that laid off and furloughed workers might possibly weather for a while the economic downturn due to the quarantine the same government decreed in a furtive attempt to manage the Covid-19 pandemic. As during the 2008 banking/real estate market crash that financially decimated so many lives, a sovereign God permitted this as a corrective measure on a Church polluted by the prosperity and materialism of a our country and era.  Likewise, the Covid-19 pandemic – plagues being a Biblical sign of God’s judgment – is a corrective measure as well.  This pandemic did not happen outside of the Lord’s sovereign will, but has a purpose.  Very, very few are talking about that.

So, should Christian people “tithe” money from their stimulus check?  The Bible teaches first that men should “provide for their families.” I guarantee

Louisiana pastor asks followers to send their stimulus checks to churches instead of buying food.

you, if you have qualified for a stimulus payment, you are square in the demographic that is most vulnerable in our fractured, crippled economy.  That money is for groceries and rent and providing for your family. It is for, perhaps, car repairs, so you are prepared to go back to work, or paying off your utilities.

It is NOT to continue to underwrite the thoroughly spiritually and morally bankrupt American Evangelical Industrial Complex; the “mega church” model that has grown like a cancer across the country.  Some of these “celebrity” preachers are worth millions, having lived like parasites off the False idolnaive generosity of the true Church for generations, or unfortunately the unrepented of greed of the same.  It is lost on the undiscerning that the two major catastrophes of recent years to so negatively impact American culture and visible Christianity – the 2008 market crash and the Covid-19 pandemic – have both directly targeted the biggest idol in the modern day American Church – the almighty dollar.

The simple guidelines for New Testament giving are clear. It is what Christianity has become in America that has perverted the simplicity of it.

Statistics show that an insane number of people are in debt, most living paycheck to paycheck, and few with even a small savings to fall back on in the event of an emergency. Acknowledging many reasons for the cost of living in some states and areas or circumstances beyond an individual’s control, a lot of this is still because of simple gross mismanagement of personal finances.  Giving ones hard earned money to these “Christian” shysters and extortionists who mainly appeal to people’s greed is first of all, unbiblical, it’s also irresponsible.  The Lord does not need your money to “further the ministry.”  These wolves in sheep’s clothing need it to underwrite their exorbitant, posh lifestyles and bloated corporate budgets, and that at the expense of the naive, undiscerning, and ill-informed.

An Evangelical Suicide

An Evangelical Suicide

I had an interesting conversation recently with one of the secretaries at the office.  This was in the wake of the September, 2019, suicide of Jarrid Wilson, the youth pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. He and his wife started the nonprofit “Anthem of Hope” to help those “battling brokenness, depression, anxiety, self-harm, addiction and suicide,” among other accomplishments he was noted for.

I was approached because it is known I attended Harvest Christian Fellowship for many years (well over three decades).  This was in the early 80’s when it was still known as Calvary Chapel, Riverside.

This lady’s teenage daughter, like most young people attending area Evangelical ministries and outreaches, had been in the orbit of Jarrid Wilson’s ministry at some time. Especially through social media.  She had articulated to her mom some alarm at the suicide of this youth pastor, ostensibly one who was supposed to “help” those contending with this very same thing.  I was very familiar with her concern and confusion.  I recall in years back counseling with a young, active duty police officer on an AOL forum in the late 90’s after one of his lieutenants in his department committed suicide. He had looked up to him greatly.  The deep concern of this young cop was, “If this can happen to him, what can become of me?”

It was a valid concern.  When role models in positions of leadership and influence end like this, the sense of vulnerability and sudden frailty is very tangible.  As it was with this young cop, so was it with this young women.  Yet, from what her mother was telling me, I could tell she was already pretty solid in her foundation of reality and a Biblical understanding, and how this situation was terribly wrong.

What did I say to her?

Some back ground first…

“Mental Health” ~

It has been well over a century since the ideas of Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud, among many others, have spread through generations of Western culture.  Like most humanist world views (and directly at odds with a Biblical one) they have their own lexicon and familiar terminology.  Few have noticed the spread of these ideas and terminology (reference the frog in the pot slowly boiling alive, here) unopposed into mainstream American Evangelical culture in recent decades.  James Dobson, an American evangelical Christian author – and psychologist, is one of the more prominent spokesman I know to spearhead and mainstream this secular humanist field within mainstream Christian culture.

Conversely, it was and is Dave Hunt and T.A. McMahon of The Berean Call, among a very few others, to oppose this cancerous spread of unBiblical ideas as valid ministry through this, what should be, an exclusive culture founded on nothing else but Biblical truth.  The lexicon, the terminology, birthed out of the sewer of ideas from a lost world, mainstreamed into the Church like a Trojan horse; “mental health,” “depression,” “anxiety” and “self-harm,” all extra-Biblical terminology conveying humanist ideas reinforcing secularism, instead of the exclusivity of the Bible and the Word of God, as a corrective to the sinful, fallen nature of man.

Why is this so poisonous? Everything within this worldly/humanist field, the victimization and language of defeat, the spiritual weakness, is opposed to pretty much everything within a Biblical world view that promises mental strength and “victory over the world.”

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

The Word of God ~

What do you really believe?  Are you a professing Christian?  I understand the vast majority of our culture says they are.  That means nothing.  Does your family and friends recognize you are?  If you were put on trial for being a Bible believing, born again Christian, would you be convicted?

Do you read the Bible?  At all?  Do you read it like, perhaps, a Reader’s Digest or a best selling self-help book?  Carelessly; casually, “hoping” the good parts apply to you, skimming over the difficult parts with little effort to dig deeper, uncomfortably skipping over the parts that convict your heart and challenge your world view?  Yes, I’ve done that.  It’s a waste of time and pointless.

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” (James 1: 23-24)

Or do you take your relationship with a very real God, the Lord of all creation and His Word to mere men, preserved through the centuries and proven again and again, seriously?  Dead serious.  Reading, do you practically apply it?  Even if it comes down to a moment to moment “war of ideas” in the mind, holding to the very real promises of God and His providence in opposition to your circumstances, whether situations real or just imagined.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

Because carelessly handing such things is serious, and with the rise of suicides in the modern professing Church, irrefutable evidence of the rotten fruit of the negligent handling of these same things.  The spiritual realm is a mysterious thing, “ideas” fronted by an adversary Jesus stated was a murderer, contrary to the clear Word of God and leading down some dark and sometimes deadly alleys.  And to be soundly rejected right at the door of heart and mind!

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (I John 5:4)

Do you believe that?

A Generation Being Brainwashed ~

I was talking about this further with a family member, how day to day her generation is being brainwashed in a secular humanist world view marinated in a culture that has largely rejected and abandoned a Biblical one. The media, social media; certainly the schools, rife with humanist delusion and vulgarity, and how regularly reading the Bible and holding to its precepts is the only antidote. I read one secular source (of course again promoting “mental health”) portraying David as a “manic depressive” in the Psalms.  What was “depressed” David’s response?

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: ‘but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.’” (I Samuel 30:6)

This unregenerate writer of course failed to mention the pinnacle of power and prestige he finally achieved in the end, after holding to the reality of a God who loved him and had a final purpose for him.  Not wallowing in self-pity, choking down a bunch of Xanax proscribed by a “therapist” on the payroll of Big Pharma – or suicide.  But, such is the lost world and their mishandling of things they don’t understand.  Even Elijah was downcast and distraught when he was running from the death edict of Jezebel, yet he didn’t “off himself,” the Lord providentially took him directly.

The Bible is rife with stories of people through the ages who overcame whatever circumstances they found themselves, yet trusted in a very real and loving sovereign God they knew intuitively – intimately – placed them there and continued to choose to push forward.  No matter what, and to the final conclusion, whatever that would be.

I read a few of Jarrid Wilson’s writings, rife with the terminology of this age, this whole generation marinated in these hell engendered ideas, allowed to pollute, to dilute the power of the Word of God.  An uneasy alliance, a compromise with a deadly enemy that finally struck in the end.  Very disappointing.  This, instead of a no quarter, no compromise stance, in heart and mind, rejecting all this poisonous slop – this spirit, and holding daily, moment to moment, to the truth and reality of the presence and promises of God.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7)

What was worse, was as a youth pastor, the young, impressionable minds he was presumably tasked with ministering to, were the ones most negatively impacted.  What was Jarrid even doing behind a pulpit, let alone a youth ministry pulpit?  His serious personal problems were certainly not private or hidden in a corner.  1 Timothy lists the qualifications for leadership. Titus 3:2 requires “sober mindedness.” (…not “intoxicated,” figuratively speaking, and is therefore calm under pressure, self-controlled in all areas, and rational.)

That he had issues was pretty clear for some time and should at least raise an eyebrow at the discernment of church leadership overseeing him, to not remove him from that influential pulpit.

Like many of his younger generation, many of the same high profile Evangelical celebrities who have committed suicide in recent years, are products of the superficial “Evangelical Industrial Complex,” and victims, really, of “theological malpractice,” as one friend put it.  “Decisional” salvation/regeneration without counting the cost to follow Jesus.  This is an unfortunate byproduct of the modern day, affluent Laodicean church entertainment oriented, social media driven, celebrity obsessed Evangelical culture initially introduced as an “alternative” to the world, yet inevitably no different than the world.  A celebrity pastor being removed from the pulpit by “the industry” is as rare as a blue moon.

Yet many of these celebrity “leaders” who should know better, hobnob with some of the most notorious wolves in sheeps clothing, on the Presidents advisory council, and call for revival and days of prayer, while giving lip service to an ambiguous “repentance,” with no intentions of doing any such thing.  I don’t think many are capable at this point, trapped in what Evangelicalism has warped into over the last thirty years.  The Bible based discernment of our times is abysmal!  It’s a truly bizarre situation.

Also, my intention is certainly not for any already entrapped in the psychological/therapeutic machine and already on psychotropic drugs to recklessly stop.  That would be irresponsible.  There is supposed evidence of carelessness when individuals stop their medication cold turkey and ending up in some getting hurt, which is further used to attack valid Biblical based counseling.  An individual disentangling themselves from this is possible, yet a personal journey and long process.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound….” (Isaiah 61:1)

Adolescent brainwashing

Rather, that young Christian people today and still relatively free, targets of so much recruitment through these ideas propagated by a corrupt, fallen world, would choose to resist, and continue to resist the confusion and delusion of these times and hold to Biblical truth. Modern day “mental health” and addicting Big Pharma pill “therapy” is a black hole which few ever escape, ever in need of new victims.  Unfortunately at this point, even many in their church leadership are derelict in their duties in ministering to them effectively, to keep them safe.

So, back to this mother and her teenage daughter. I certainly encouraged her to stand fast and not be moved.  No, she is not wrong for questioning. No, the situation isn’t right and by no means whatsoever discredits or diminishes the truth of the Lord’s presence, providence, or the validity of His many precious promises to His Church, His bride. Yes, yes she can, like anyone else who chooses to embrace truth and resist the suffocating lies of this corrupt culture and our times, overcome!

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (I John 4:4)

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (I John 5:5)

Believe it!

Not Guilty

Trump – Continuing to produce cheap reality TV.

People know I didn’t vote for Trump, the 10% outside the camp of “90% of Evangelicals” who sold out their integrity to the corrupt GOP in lieu of a more qualified candidate in 2016. Just like George Bush, the Trump era hasn’t yet proven to be the house built on sand, like the Bush years, which delivered us eight years of Barack Obama. But it will.

Nevertheless, the Democrats “impeachment” farce has come to its inevitable conclusion; a sideshow circus inflicted on America rooted in the GOP’s own decades long moral bankruptcy. Everyone knew it was coming to this. The Democrats own deranged conduct is guaranteeing another four year Trump term.

The “shining city on a hill” Reagan first articulated about America continues its degeneracy into a dystopian Carthage reborn.

Trump, the Kurds, and Evangelical Hypocrisy

Donald Trump
President Donald Trump

The recent Trump decision to pull out a few hundred military advisors from Northeast Syria in the face of a Turkish push into Kurdish controlled territory to establish an ill defined “safe zone” has generated a bewildering wail of protest from American Evangelical Christian circles in recent days. I find it a little appalling; the selective outrage and histrionics from the very diehard supporters of Trump, who ran on a platform promising to do the very thing he is doing in this scenario.

It is hypocritical because in the midst of the impending “slaughter” and “genocide” the Evangelical Christian Industry Media is hyperventilating about in their faux outrage is curiously ignored as it is happening in other parts of the world in real time. What is the big difference between Northeastern Syria and Africa?

Reasons too many and detailed to go into for this writer. That the American Evangelical Christian Industrial complex is in bed with the world; a selective globalist social gospel prevailing over the authentic proclamation of the genuine, guarantees the pandemonium throughout will continue. The US Government, in cahoots with a fake US “Christian” cohort, is expecting Trump to continue to support one terrorist organization over another. An endless treadmill of wars the majority of Americans, including this writer, is really weary of.
