A Sad Statement About Today's
Schools
Many today point to the
high economy of our country as evidence of the blessings of God, while mourning
the deaths of children by children in our nation's schools.
Unsaved authorities in education
state the problem is a shortage of funding, old buildings and lack of security.
They close their minds to the fact that their predecessors operated with
a fraction of the money spent today.
Teachers who barely finished
school themselves had something our schools today don't have: the teachings
of morals based on the Word of God. Children didn't carry guns to school,
except for protection from wild animals or hostile Indians. There was never
a fear these young people would turn the guns on their teachers or fellow
students. Each morning the teacher would start the day with Bible reading
and prayer.
Today God has been kicked out
of our schools and we are suffering conflict in many innercity schools. Children
are taught to dive under their desks at the first sound of gunfire.
Will we wake up before it's too
late or will we lose this generation? Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness
exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
